Queens Wharf Master Plan and part of the successful bid team for the $3 6b project

This ambitious project redefines sustainable luxury, combining bold design with a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. WSP is proud to have supported Red Sea Global in delivering the pioneering Desert Rock Resort, a one-of-a-kind hospitality destination designed to blend seamlessly into the rugged landscapes of Saudi Arabia. In 2016, it followed this with the allocation of HK$200bn to implement a 10-year hospital development plan that would seek to provide more than 6,000 beds and 94 operating theatres, and increase the capacity of specialist and general outpatient clinics across the city. Shaktoolik, Alaska, is a remote village of 260 people, located 125 miles east of Nome, on a narrow spit of land between the Tagoomenik River and the Bering Sea. By taking three of Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city, this project will untangle the City Loop.
Our team has been involved since the project's infancy through to the final construction, helping masterplan and design across sustainability, structural and services engineering, to pedestrian flow analysis, and fire protection. "We are very proud of our design and what it will mean for Queensland, and have at all times gone above and beyond requirements to provide great outcomes for the city and broader community. Our multidisciplinary team masterplanned Brisbane’s first 6 Star Green Star Communities rating and the Neville Bonner Bridge to create an iconic piece of city skyline. "Together with the existing CBD and Queen Street Mall retail offerings, Queen’s Wharf Brisbane retail precincts will contribute to provide a larger integrated retail offering for the city. The masterplan that will steer the design of Queensland’s largest development, the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort development, is now on public notification. The Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area (PDA) will create a new central business district for the Sunshine Coast, support economic development and build much needed infrastructure. It includes land located between the Brisbane River and George Street, and between Alice and Queen Streets, with a riverfront connection to the Goodwill and Neville Bonner Bridges.
Queen’s Wharf Masterplan is a world-class integrated resort development located in the heart of Brisbane, Australia. Destination Brisbane Consortium and a team of more than 100 expert consultants spent 12 months preparing the Plan of Development that will act as a framework for development of the Queen’s Wharf Brisbane precinct. "When we open the doors, expected in 2022, we will require 8,000 people to operate the development, however well before then, more than 2,000 people will be needed (during peak construction) to make this development a reality." "The scale of Queen’s Wharf Brisbane is like nothing our city has seen before, and our plan captures and maximises the linkages and opportunities for Brisbane’s existing offerings with our future development. "New features at the river’s edge will include places for people to sit and enjoy this part of the city, which has been an underutilised area yet is historically very significant for Brisbane. "Our plan seeks to activate the waterfront opposite South Bank and help connect the city with the river.
The masterplan that will steer the design of Queensland’s largest development, the multi-billion-dollar Queen’s Wharf Brisbane integrated resort development, has been submitted to the Queensland Government for assessment.
